Things to Do in the Caribbean

Whether you are staying in a luxury villa or a budget hotel you will find a huge variety of things to do in the Caribbean. Snorkeling and diving are some of the most popular sports from the Caribbean Island resorts as the water is warm and crystal clear and the wealth of colorful marine life is superb.

The Caribbean offers some of the best scuba diving in the world with long stretches of reef and a multitude of wreck sites and underwater caves to explore. Almost all the islands have a dive center where equipment and diving trips can be booked, Beginners can also take a course of lessons to obtain their PADI diving certificate. With the second largest reef in the world just off the coast of Belize, the area attracts a huge number of snorkelers and divers to the area.

Grand Cayman Island features Stingray City where snorkelers can hand-feed these strange creatures. The Turks and Caicos Islands have miles of vertical wall drop-offs which are home to turtles, reef sharks, manta rays and shoals of colourful fish. The Royal Mail Steamer “Rhone” which sank in 1867 is now an underwater national park in the British Virgin Islands. On Bonaire you can walk from the shore to the reefs of coral whilst Bimini in the Bahamas has amazing sea life on Victory Reef.

Sports fishing makes an exciting day out on the water, or take a glass-bottomed boat trip to see the reefs, turtles and marine life without getting your hair wet! The beaches offer all the usual watersports including jet skis, banana boat rides, windsurfing, parasailing, canoeing, quad biking and surfing.
